Did Obama commit agressive war by shooting these pirates?

Live To Fish asked:

The pirates were tricked into thinking they were in for more negotiations when they were ambushed by the most powerful military on earth. Should Obama be hauled into The Hague for trial?

What the heck is John McCain’s position on the bailout?

OK- Obama has made his points quite clearly - and outlined them to the President in yesterday’s meeting. McCain has NOT STATED what he wants to see in this bill at all.

How can he change the outcome of these negotiations if he has no position?
Thanks Kellie - for showing you have no idea either.

Why is the Democrat party not called the Appeasement party?

An opportunity for you to express reasons for or justify a 150 yr history of “touchy feely” negotiations with unreasonable and determined foes. This idea of reflecting “our” disappointment in the behaviors of others, has its’ limitations. The entire world knows where we stand, prior to any decisions they make, in regards to “unacceptable” actions Do we not look fools when are reactive , instead of proactive? Will we tolerate another Carter/Clinton legacy of lethargic complacency. Embassy, world trade center, and several other assorted bombings, for example.
*** I acknowledge the captures and convictions, it’s the disregard to taking effective and lasting action against those who sent the culprits….and yes, the cia was aware of a strong possibility of attack….but not even in your wildest dreams, would you have stopped them…unless you’re for a police state, we all whined about airport security improvements, they took a burecratic eternity to impliment…….refusing to admit the Iranian miltary barracks bombing, was a Carter wimpout..is denial maxim. The gaurds posted at gates weren’t allowed to have cartriges in their guns. Our miltary was strenthened but not our borders afterwards. Clinton could have done what now seems to be Bush’s fault!
*** Iran is the birth place of anti-infidel, muslim extremism. Carter empowered them with his limp wristed approach. Why? His limp wristed constituancy!
** FDR was anti-war during his campaign to be elected,….he even said so himself..”I had to be, to win the election” (PBS documentory). He then changed his stance, and against the desires of his country, entered the war with Germany. He also knew Japan was going to attack the US, but, like Bush, had no idea when and where. So come down off your parties mascot because you all are emulating it to a “T”.

With the continued polarization of American politics, could it lead to a civil war?

With issues such as abortion, immigration, taxation, the War on Terror, etc., America has become very much polarized. You are for or against an issue and there is no middle ground for negotiations. This sort of political behavior by different societies often have often led to civil war.

Do you think we’re headed to another American Civil War? Do we need to settle things with guns since politics have failed us? Are these circumstances in today’s politic similar to the American Civil War of the past with trade and slavery issues being the forefront? What would the sides be? Conservative vs Liberal?

mbush40 asked:

Obama promised to keep earmarks at or below 1994 levels or (7.8 billion) I have heard the earmark portion is around 600 billion in this package. Any details?
Whimsy- then why say you are going to control them in the first place?
