There are a lot of people who expect Obama to work wonders here in the Middle East, and amongst them are Arabs. Do you think he’ll be able to do anything useful though? I mean, American foriegn policy is run by Israel, and they can’t have negotiations with any group that does not recognize Israel as a state. Even if he has good intentions, he’ll never be able to carry them out. Should we really get our hopes up for this guy?

tbh i think he’s been “hyped” up too much…just cos he’s black, ppl get excited…i mean yay lets party, but no one’s really seen what he wants for the world, i mean is he jsut gona be another bush?? so funny, did anyone watch the Daily Show?? haha i love that show! anways, Obama gave the SAME words that bush gave in his speech, hmm what can we see there?
The american goverment are run by the same people who want the same things for the world. Now they’re tactics is to get a president who is capabable of giving out the SAME message to the world; but they give it out in a way that EVERYONE wants to agree on and will cast their vote out on him. The 44th president is black “:o omg!!, and i never thought i’d live to see that happen :o” < - - people’s reaction. So instantly ppl are going to vote for him, because he’s different. Now the first thing that we can all say is that this lil “goverment” has actually succeeded in making that happen. Just watch, and i hope inshAllah i’m wrong, like really wrong, but just watch Obama will be the same as bush…he showed it in his first speech, where he used the same words as bush. I mean can u see there? like hear the white man say it, now hear the black man say it…woah….do u get me?
This goverment is gonna end the world, they are so evil and so manipulating….*sheds a tear*

Time will tell us. Just let’s wait and see. Hope for a better future where Palestinians have their rights and freedom. Israel must be punished for its war crimes and stopped smuggling white phosphorus and other WMD from US.

i don’t i would like to think so but he has more important problems on his hands at the moment like the global recession, global warming, unemployment, a new health bill. I think that he has very little influence with hamas so they will continue firing their rockets in the hope that the israeli’s will retaliate and they will. I do think that he should be getting involved in the major world problems like the Congo Zimbabwe, Darfur and somalia.

Listen you all guys,Obama is not a machine, that he will change the whole world in one minute.He is human being,So give him some time.May be he proved to be a good president for both muslims as well as Non-Muslims.Or May be he proved himself to be worse president.It depends,we cannot predict.

Obaba will do what is best for America and for rest of the world. Muslims should not hipe their hope too much. He wants to get elected for the next term also. He can’t get elected again if he favors too much to Palestinians against the interests of Israelis.
Obama will not allow Israelis free hands to kill Muslims like Bush did. But he will not stop giving money to Israel because that is in the hands of corrupt politicians who vote how Jewish lobby will wants them to do.
American policy is not run by Israel but certainly by Jewish lobby in USA which is very powerful. It distributes money amongst all politicians. They are corrupt people and will not refuse to take money from Jewish lobbysts. They all want to get elected again also.

Um…it’s the people in the middle east who need to fix the middle east (”ME”). Not the US President.
What the US President needs to do, is back off the ME and pressure the rest of the west to do the same. The real problem in the ME is our interference in that region’s politics and policies for our benefit.
How can someone who isn’t from the region and doesn’t even speak the language there solve it’s issues? I mean, he could, if he took the time to study and learn and really apply himself. But as President of the US, he doesn’t have the time to really dedicate himself to that kind of study. He has to focus everywhere, not just there.
If he backed off, and studied up over term 1, he might be in a position to go a second term (ppl aren’t kidding when they say he won’t make it if he goes against Israel too strongly in term 1) and then make some real changes, or help those on the ground to do so. But I wouldn’t look for major changes just yet.
